About Vashon Build
We are a full service energy planning and installation company.
Vashon Build, formerly Potential Energy, Inc., is a family-owned building company based on Vashon Island, WA. Our service area includes Vashon and Maury Islands, as well as surrounding communities in the Puget Sound.
We started our company in October of 2009 with two employees. Over the last nine years, our company has grown in staff and in spectrum of services. The growth we have experienced over the last several years has been due to our focus on building with a focus on energy efficiency. Our early projects were large energy retrofits of existing homes guided by energy audit work with improvements to insulation, infiltration, and heating appliance upgrades.
Our focus is creating efficient, durable, comfortable, healthy spaces to live . This focus applies to projects of all sizes; from small bathroom or kitchen remodels, to large additions and new home construction. Responsible building practices are founded on these three principles.
The initial phase of any project begins with a conversation. The successful execution of any project, from beginning to end, depends on good communication. We strive to set a precedent for clear communication right from the beginning. Potential Energy will work with you to arrive at a scope of work that suits your goals and budget. Then we will develop a detailed project budget so that all aspects of the project are accounted for. Updates and changes are openly discussed along the way and work progresses when a common understanding is reached. All these efforts eliminate surprises down the road… and this makes for a much more enjoyable process.
The fun part! Once a common understanding is reached during the design phase we can begin a construction phase. We strive for a safe and organized construction process.
